Press Operator

Located in FREDERICK, MD

Salary: $20/hr-$22/hr

We are seeking a skilled Press Operator to ensure the consistent production of high-quality printed materials. This role requires setting up and operating printing presses, conducting routine maintenance, and troubleshooting mechanical issues. The Press Operator will work with various equipment, including Quad Tech, Baldwin, Technotrans, and Gammerler, and must ensure all machinery is mechanically sound for continuous operation. There may be some overtime, and/or weekend work depending on workload!

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and operate printing presses for newspaper and commercial jobs.
• Conduct daily mechanical checks and ensure proper lubrication and maintenance.
• Assist with minor mechanical repairs and complete necessary production reports.
• Manage press settings, including pagination, web leads, and press control systems.
• Operate essential pressroom equipment such as folders, reel stands, stackers, trimmers, and stitchers.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized pressroom.
• Perform manual tasks including lifting up to 60 lbs., climbing, bending, and working with small parts.
• Utilize safety gear and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Maintain strong color perception and use a densitometer for quality control.
