Pay: $30.00+/hr. DOE + Daily Per Diem + Paid Travel + Quarterly Profit-Sharing Bonus

Schedule: Can vary.  On call or by appointment.  Typical hours 6am to 4pm.  This is a direct to hire position.

 

 

As part of the Service Department, you’ll ensure every homeowner continues to experience the quality, craftsmanship, and care our homes are known for. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, travel, and customer interaction.

 

Position Overview
The Home Service Construction Warranty Technician performs warranty and service repairs on homes across Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. This is a full-time travel position requiring up to 10–12 consecutive days on the road.
You’ll complete multi-trade repairs, maintain accurate documentation, communicate promptly with the Service Department, and represent KIT with professionalism and integrity at every job site.

 

Key Responsibilities
•Travel to customer home sites to perform warranty and service repairs.
•Complete hands-on construction work including:
   o Carpentry, cabinetry, and finish trim
   o Flooring (laminate, vinyl, tile)
   o Drywall, tape, texture, painting, siding, roofing
   o Windows/doors, plumbing, and basic electrical repairs
•Maintain and stock company vehicle and tools.
•Communicate clearly with homeowners and internal departments.
•Document service work, photos, and customer communications accurately.
•Maintain professional conduct while representing Home Builders.

 

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in construction, remodeling, or service work.
• Proficiency in carpentry, drywall, painting, and basic electrical/plumbing.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Willingness to travel extensively (10–12 days at a time).
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain DOT medical card.
• Must pass background check and drug screen.
• Reliable attendance; occasional overtime or weekend travel required.
