Machine Operator/Sandbag Filler

Located in Elkhart, IN

Job Duties – Sandbag Filler (35 lb Bags)

• Operate manual, semi-automatic, or automated sandbag-filling equipment to fill 35-lb sandbags.

• Load sand or aggregate material into the hopper or designated fill area.

• Monitor material flow to ensure each bag reaches the required 35-lb weight.

• Secure, tie, or seal sandbags to prevent spillage.

• Lift, carry, and stack 35-lb filled sandbags onto pallets, trucks, or designated staging areas.

• Maintain a clean and safe work area by removing debris, managing material piles, and ensuring equipment pathways are clear.

• Assist with routine cleaning, minor maintenance, and troubleshooting of sandbag-filling machines.

• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Communicate equipment issues, material shortages, or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.

• Support general labor tasks related to sandbag production and site operations as needed.
