Job Overview -**Looking for a solderer who is experienced with multi component boards (5000-6000) under a microscope. No training so would need to catch on and be able to do very quickly. Interview will consist of doing a soldering test on them .

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Soldering Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, soldering, and inspecting electronic components and circuit boards to ensure the highest quality standards are met. Duties

  • Perform soldering of surface mount technology (SMT) components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) using hand tools, soldering irons, and automated equipment.
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and IPC 610 standards to ensure proper assembly and solder joints.
  • Use precision measurement tools such as calipers and ohmmeters to verify component placement, electrical continuity, and circuit integrity.
  • Assemble electronic modules by following detailed assembly instructions, ensuring mechanical fit and electrical connections meet specifications.
  • Conduct inspections of solder joints and assemblies according to IPC 610 standards, identifying defects or areas for rework.
  • Utilize power tools and hand tools safely for mechanical assembly or component installation as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
  • Assist in troubleshooting electrical wiring issues and making necessary repairs or adjustments to ensure product quality.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by documenting processes, suggesting efficiency enhancements, and maintaining accurate records of work performed.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues related to PCB assembly or soldering processes.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with PCB assembly, soldering techniques, including surface mount technology (SMT), and reading schematics.
  • Familiarity with IPC 610 standards for electronic assemblies and inspections.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge related to electronic device assembly and component handling.
  • Proficiency with hand tools such as soldering irons, calipers, screwdrivers, pliers, and power tools used in manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to use electrical testing equipment including ohmmeters for circuit verification.
  • Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of electrical wiring practices and schematic interpretation is essential.
  • Basic machining skills are advantageous for component preparation or fixture adjustments.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance during assembly processes.
