Job Title: Accountant

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage and oversee financial operations, ensure compliance with regulations, and support various administrative functions. This role requires strong analytical skills, a high level of integrity, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments.


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Prepare and analyze asset, liability, and capital account entries.
  • Document and verify financial transactions.
  • Generate financial reports including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other summaries.
  • Conduct month-end and year-end closings.
  • Prepare special financial reports by analyzing trends and account information.

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
  • Maintain internal controls and recommend improvements to policies and procedures.
  • Audit documents to substantiate financial transactions.
  • File sales tax reports and manage payments.

Accounting Operations

  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and financial discrepancies.
  • Enter and reconcile intercompany transactions.
  • Manage database backups and ensure financial data security.
  • Process payments and verify supporting documentation.

Payroll & HR Support

  • Prepare payroll and manage all payroll-related tasks.
  • Handle HR responsibilities including compliance and employee support.
  • Assist with 401(k) administration and benefits coordination.

Inventory & Facility Support

  • Manage the inventory system and guide staff through procedures.
  • Assist with facility operations and security protocols.
  • Support insurance management to ensure adequate coverage.

Team Collaboration

  • Coordinate activities with accounting clerical staff and provide guidance.
  • Respond to accounting procedure inquiries and interpret policies.
  • Contribute to team efforts and support cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with an emphasis in Accounting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and FASB standards.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
  • Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong math skills and data entry management.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently or as part of a team.
