Klie Law, a well-established full-service law firm serving Morgantown and surrounding communities, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Attorney to join our team. We handle a variety of cases including family law, general civil matters, and more — so you’ll have the opportunity to work across a wide range of legal practice areas with a supportive, collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent clients in family law, civil, and general practice matters (e.g., divorce, custody, estates, contracts, civil litigation)

• Prepare, review, and file pleadings, motions, legal briefs, and other court documents

• Conduct legal research and fact investigations as needed for client cases

• Provide clients with timely advice and counsel, clearly explaining legal options and next steps

• Communicate with courts, other attorneys, and clients regarding case status and requirements

• Maintain organized and updated case files

• Attend court appearances, depositions, mediations, or client meetings as needed

• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to manage workflow and client load

Qualifications & Requirements

• Law degree (JD) from an accredited law school

• Admission to the WV bar (or eligible for admission) — licensed to practice law in state → or licensed elsewhere but eligible for WV practice is acceptable

• 2+ years (or more) of legal practice — family law and/or civil litigation preferred

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent legal research, document drafting, and case-management skills

• Professional demeanor, ethical integrity, and client-focused approach

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
