Carpenter Helper – Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Carpenter Helper to support our carpentry team with daily construction tasks. This role is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. You will work alongside experienced carpenters, assisting with material preparation, jobsite cleanup, measurements, installations, and general labor tasks that help ensure project success.

Responsibilities

• Assist carpenters with building, installing, and repairing structures such as framing, flooring, trim, and cabinetry

• Measure, cut, and prepare materials under the direction of a lead carpenter

• Load, unload, and organize tools, lumber, supplies, and equipment

• Maintain a clean and safe jobsite, removing debris and organizing work areas

• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively (hammer, saws, drills, levels, etc.)

• Hold materials in place during fastening, layout, and installation tasks

• Assist with layout work including marking reference points and measuring distances

• Follow all safety guidelines, wearing required PPE at all times

• Support additional duties as needed to ensure efficient workflow and job completion

Qualifications

• Previous construction or carpentry experience is a plus, but entry-level candidates with strong work ethic are welcome

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor in various weather conditions

• Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools

• Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions

• Reliable transportation to and from job sites

• Willingness to learn, take direction, and work as part of a team

• Commitment to safety and proper tool handling
