JOB SUMMARY:

The Client Services Specialist is tasked with assessing eligibility criteria to deliver effective case management, customer outreach, and specialized services for participants in the One-Stop Center Child Care Program.  This role involves gathering information, preparing necessary reports, and maintaining precise data entry and recordkeeping to ensure that eligible clients access the services essential for their successful engagement in employment and training initiatives.

 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Verifies eligibility with an exceptional degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Performs basic mathematical operations (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, order of operations) as required, to determine eligibility.
  • Collects, analyzes and summarizes data using computer software.
  • Interviews and assesses applicants to determine appropriate service.
  • Enrolls eligible applicants in appropriate services and maintains customer information utilizing computer databases.
  • Maintains a thorough working knowledge of available childcare providers and assists customers in making appropriate choices of these providers.
  • Conducts case management for participants, such as periodic monitoring, evaluation and counseling. Maintains comprehensive case management notes, and conducts follow-up as required.
  • Completes recertification paperwork and performs data entry in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Creates and maintains virtual case files.
  • Utilizes the Workforce Center website portal and texting system to assist customers and child care staff.
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with Workforce Center child care providers and cooperating agencies.
  • Explains services available at the Workforce Center, provides information and answers questions to facilitate delivery of services for all customers.
  • Works as a team member with other Workforce Center staff to meet the centers’ goals and provide the highest quality service to the customer.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One or more years’ work experience with data entry, fact checking, time management and customer service required.
  • Strong organizational skills are essential.
  • Basic math proficiency
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Must have a valid Texas driver’s license, auto liability insurance and reliable transportation.
  • Occasional local travel using personal vehicles may be required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
