Layout/Fitter

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Layout/Fitter to work in our steel fabrication facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of blueprints, metal fabrication processes, and will be able to fit and assemble structural frameworks and metal parts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and fitting requirements.
• Lay out and fit steel and other metals to form structural frameworks or parts of metal products.
• Use tools such as squares, rules, and calipers to ensure precision and accuracy.
• Tack-weld fitted parts together to secure in position for welding.
• Operate fabrication equipment, including drill presses, cutting machines, and welding machines.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets the required specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure projects are completed on time.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Layout/Fitter in a steel fabrication environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
• Proficiency in using measuring tools and fabrication equipment.
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques and metal properties.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
• Physical stamina to stand, lift, and perform manual tasks throughout the workday.
