We are seeking a Nutrition Product Development Specialist (part-time) for a food manufacturing company in Brockton, MA. This role supports the development, accuracy, and compliance of medical nutrition and functional food products by maintaining formulations, managing labeling, and collaborating with production and marketing teams.

 

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update product formulations and recipes based on nutritional requirements and production capabilities.
• Manage nutritional labeling and analysis using Genesis and other nutrition tools.
• Provide accurate product and nutrition information to internal teams.
• Partner with production to update formulation and kitting sheets, ensuring quality and cost efficiency.
• Analyze macro and micronutrient profiles, including amino acids, for accuracy and compliance.
• Identify and qualify alternative ingredients through supplier and vendor communication.
• Support Marketing and Medical Affairs with nutrition data for special projects.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Dietetics, Culinary Science, or related field, plus 5+ years in food product development or nutritional science.
• Hands-on experience with product formulation from bench-top to commercialization, ideally in bakery, frozen entrées, or dry blend environments.
• Proficient with clinical nutrition formulations, nutrient analysis, and nutrition labeling software such as Genesis.
• Strong knowledge of FDA/EU regulations, food safety standards, and macro/micronutrient interpretation.
• Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills with familiarity in recipe development and the product development lifecycle.
