Express Employment Professionals is hiring on behalf of our client in the logistics services industry for a General Accountant. This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong full-cycle accounting experience, a solid understanding of financial reporting, and a mindset geared toward continuous improvement and efficiency.

About the Role

The General Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information across multiple business entities. This position is responsible for receivables management, reconciliations, full-cycle accounting tasks, and the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages. The role also contributes to identifying opportunities for automation, process improvement, and enhanced internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

•         Perform accounts receivable collection, monitoring, and reconciliation activities
•          Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, and sub-ledger reconciliations across multiple entities
•          Maintain monthly intercompany due-to/due-from reconciliations
•          Prepare month-end financial reporting packages for multiple business units
•          Maintain prepayment and accrual schedules and post related journal entries
•          Prepare and distribute client invoices
•          Post daily bank deposits and ensure the timely processing of receipts
•          Identify opportunities to improve efficiency within receivables, reporting workflows, and month-end close processes
•          Support the Controller during audits, reviews, and year-end activities
•          Provide backup coverage for accounting team members as needed

Qualifications:

•          Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience in finance operations and financial reporting
•          Strong hands-on experience in full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
•          Experience in accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close procedures
•          Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, process efficiency, and strengthening internal controls
•          Strong proficiency with Excel and accounting systems
•          Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
•          Strong team player with excellent communication skills
