Class A Auto Mechanic

1099- Auto Shop - Flat Rate Pay at 35-40% of Labor Rate which equates to about $50.00/HR.

 

Mon-Fri 7:30am-5:30pm, NO WEEKENDS

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Class A Mechanic to join a local Auto Shop in Tampa NW. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles and equipment, with the ability to handle complex mechanical and electrical issues. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on vehicles and equipment

• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems

• Conduct major mechanical work, including overhauls and replacements

• Troubleshoot hydraulic and fuel systems

• Maintain accurate service records and documentation

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards

• Conduct test drives and quality checks to confirm repairs

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred

• 5+ years of experience as an automotive or heavy-duty mechanic

• Valid driver’s license 

• Strong knowledge of diagnostic tools and repair equipment

• Ability to lift heavy parts and work in physically demanding environments

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

• Proven track record of reliability and teamwork
