Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced CAD Operator to join a reputable local company. The ideal candidate will be the primary resource for Computer-Aided Design, producing high-quality drafting packages and coordinating closely with design staff. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with design staff to identify and document project-related activities

  • Prepare and issue all design/drafting packages in a timely, accurate, and professional manner while meeting quality standards

  • Ensure project deliverables are submitted on schedule to support administrative, procurement, and construction needs

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining CAD drafting standards and the CAD library

  • Review CAD drawings for accuracy and compliance with company standards

  • Draft block, single-line, interconnection, detail, and pin-out drawings using the CAD library

  • Convert master sketches into detailed drawings, illustrating proposed installations within existing facilities

  • Visit proposed installation sites to create rough sketches as needed

  • Explain drawings to construction teams and engineers, providing clarification or adjustments when necessary

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of CAD standards, PC applications, and drafting/engineering practices

  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and the current version of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion

Education & Experience

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent

  • Required: Post-secondary and/or technical school training

  • Required: Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible CAD drafting experience, with emphasis in electrical and/or civil drafting

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting: 80%

  • Standing/Walking: 20%

  • Drug screen and background check required
