Express Employment is currently hiring multiple Quality Technicians for two top manufacturing companies in Howell, MI and New Hudson, MI. These positions support inspection, testing, and quality control within fast-paced, safety-focused production environments.
QC Technician – Howell, MI
Pay:
- $19.50/hr during training
- $20.50/hr on night shift
Schedule:
- Training: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (approx. 2 months)
- Night Shift: 12:00 AM – 8:30 AM (starting Sunday night)
Assignment Length:
- 1-year contract with potential for full-time hire
Role Overview:
This position supports quality control in a clean manufacturing/lab environment. Ideal for someone detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working on their feet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform QC inspections to ensure product meets quality standards
- Complete documentation and follow established quality procedures
- Work safely with provided PPE in a lab/production environment
- Support production teams and escalate issues as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for most of the shift
- Lift up to 30 lbs
Quality Assurance / Met Lab Technician – New Hudson, MI
Pay: $18.00 – $19.50/hr + $1/hr shift premium for 3rd shift
Shifts Available:
- 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM (8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts)
- Includes 4–6 weeks of training on the same shift
- 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts)
- Includes 4–6 weeks of training (no premium during training)
Role Overview:
As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will support metallurgical and materials testing in a Met Lab for a leading rivet manufacturer.
What You’ll Do:
- Inspect raw materials and in-process production
- Perform metallurgical lab tests including:
- Wire tensile strength testing
- Rockwell & micro-hardness testing
- Metallographic sample prep
- Microstructure interpretation
- Plating thickness inspections
- Update inspection results in Syspro; enter data into QDA
- Assist with quality investigations, field failures, and root cause analysis
- Maintain a clean lab environment
- Safely shut down production if quality concerns arise
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with tensile testers, hardness testers, metallograph equipment
- Strong attention to detail & communication skills
- Confidence to stop production when needed
- Ability to read and understand measurements
- Computer proficiency (Excel, Word)
- Experience with Syspro or QDA a plus
Requirements:
- High School Diploma required; Associate’s or equivalent experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
