Pay Range: Between $60,000 to $65,000 Per Year

Work Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

 

JOB SUMMARY / POSITION FUNCTION:

A Membership Director is primarily responsible for growing and retaining the company membership base through sales, engagement strategies, and relationship management. They are the primary lead in cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing members, ensuring member satisfaction and driving growth in alignment with the company mission. This role requires a blend of strategic planning, sales acumen, and excellent interpersonal skills to foster a vibrant business community. 

 

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

      This person reports to the President and CEO. This person interfaces with all departments.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Including but not limited to):

      Membership Recruitment and Sales: Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to identify, recruit, and onboard new businesses for membership. This includes proactive outreach, sales presentations, and meeting established sales goals.

      Relationship Management: Serve as the primary liaison between the company and its members, building strong relationships through personal visits, phone calls, and events.  Become and remain visible in the Aurora Community.

      Member Retention and Engagement: Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for membership retention, engagement and satisfaction. Manage the member renewal process and develop initiatives to ensure existing members understand and utilize their benefits.   

      Special Event Planning and Coordination: Plan, promote, and attend new member orientation and events (e.g. ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings,) to interact with members, build rapport, and increase engagement.  Interface with the Events Team on networking events and professional development.  

      Data Management and Reporting: Oversee the membership database (CRM software) to ensure data accuracy, track interactions, and generate regular reports on membership trends, recruitment performance, and retention rates for senior management and the Board of Directors.

      Marketing and Communications: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop membership marketing materials, campaigns, and communication initiatives (e.g., e-newsletters, social media updates).

      Volunteer Oversight: Manage and support the Ambassador program and other membership-related committees to facilitate member outreach and engagement efforts.

      Customer Service: Provide high-quality customer service by responding to member inquiries in a timely manner and addressing their needs to ensure a positive member experience.  Qualifications and Skills

      Education: A bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

      Experience: Proven experience in membership management, sales, or a related role within a non-profit or association setting is essential. A track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals is a plus.  Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.

 

     Skills:

-Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. o          

-Self-motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

-Proficiency with membership databases/CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and presentation software.

-Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events. 

-A valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required. 

 

Compensation

Salary is competitive and depends on experience and qualifications and includes a competitive benefits package.
