Trailer Technician

Express Employment Professionals has partnered with a Central Iowa company seeking an experienced Trailer Technician to join their team! This is a full-time and evaluation to hire position. This position starts at $20/hr, dependent on experience. The ideal candidate should have prior trailer technician, welding, and/or mechanical experience. 

Environment: 

• This is a 1st shift schedule Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
• This is a locally owned, commercial truck repair company. Must be comfortable working in a smaller environment
• Casual clothing is preferred, must be comfortable and lightweight to move around in. Must have steel-toed boots

Duties: 

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair trailers including brakes, lights, suspensions, axels, and frames
• Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on steel and aluminum components
• Fabricate or modify trailer parts as needed to complete repairs
• Conduct preventative maintenance and safety inspections

Skills/Experience Needed: 

• MIG/TIG/Stick welding and metal fabrication proficiency
• Strong understanding of trailer electrical, brake, and suspension systems
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
