REVENUE CYCLE DATA SPECIALIST

Shifts Available (Full-Time): 

• Mon- Fri  8:30 am – 5:00 pm This is a 3-month assignment that may be extended for the right candidate.

 

Salary:

• $21.00 - $24.00 hourly

Transportation:

Must have OWN transportation

 

 

Qualifications:

 

• Must be reliable and punctual to the assignment.
• High School or equivalent graduate
• Able to pass a background check and drug test
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite, data entry/analysis, record keeping, and filing documents.
• Must have Intake/Billing experience in healthcare
• Experience in DME/Home Healthcare is ideal
• Must have a professional attitude
• Experience with Brightree EMR is a plus

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Data entry, calling around to get missing info from physician’s offices & patients
• Analyzing data to identify trends/areas of opportunity
• Review patient account records for missing or incomplete demographic, insurance, authorization, or clinical documentation.
• Enter, validate, and reconcile data in the new EMR and related billing systems.
• Audit migrated data to ensure accuracy and consistency across platforms.
• Identify data discrepancies and correct errors to support clean claim submission.
• Track trends in missing documentation or error types.
• Maintain spreadsheets or dashboards on issues impacting billing readiness.
• Provide daily/weekly status reports to leadership on progress, bottlenecks, and risk items.
• Flag systemic data issues and recommend workflow adjustments.
• Contact referral partners, clinicians, case managers, and internal departments to obtain missing information (e.g., orders, documentation, insurance info).
• Communicate clearly and professionally regarding what documentation is needed and why.
• Follow up persistently but diplomatically to ensure timely submission of required information.
• Coordinate with billing, intake, and operations teams to resolve barriers to claim submission.
• Assist with data cleanup resulting from the EMR migration.
• Highlight recurring system issues or training needs related to the new platform.
• Participate in testing or validation if workflows are updated.
