We are seeking a dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day maintenance and repair needs of three commercial office buildings in Birmingham. This role ensures all building systems operate efficiently and that tenants have a safe, functional, and comfortable environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general maintenance tasks, including minor repairs, exterior upkeep, and replacing light bulbs

• Change furnace and air conditioner filters and belts; oil motors on a quarterly schedule

• Conduct ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs on plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and other building systems

• Complete basic remodeling tasks, such as painting and light commercial carpentry

• Perform masonry and plumbing repairs as needed

• Support after-hours building needs and emergencies as required

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 2+ years of experience in commercial property maintenance or construction (highly preferred)

Skills & Abilities:

• Basic math and communication skills

• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC-related maintenance tasks

• Basic commercial carpentry experience, including proper tool usage

• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently

• Professional, customer-friendly demeanor when interacting with tenants

Working Conditions:

• Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions

• Ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs
