Duties:
- Procurement: Request and review bids from subcontractors and suppliers for both materials and labor, then negotiate pricing to secure favorable terms.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring expenses stay on track through timely and cost-efficient purchasing decisions.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain a dependable network of subcontractors and suppliers to ensure consistent availability of materials and services.
- Contract Administration: Prepare and issue purchase orders, and assist project managers with contract details, requirements, and any needed revisions.
- Risk Management: Reduce exposure to financial or operational risks by selecting clients aligned with company goals, monitoring investments, and analyzing pricing to prevent costly outcomes.
- Market Analysis: Keep up with industry trends and pricing changes for materials and products to support informed procurement and planning decisions.
Requirements:
- Experience: Prior experience in purchasing for a homebuilding company is highly preferred. A solid background in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management is essential.
- Education: Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business administration, commerce, or a closely related discipline.
- Negotiation: Strong negotiation abilities are vital for obtaining competitive pricing and favorable agreements with suppliers.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of purchasing tools and project management software helps streamline workflows and improve overall efficiency.
- Software Expertise: Must be highly skilled in using Buildertrend construction software.
- Accounting Skills: Must be proficient in QuickBooks.
