The Night Security Guard is responsible for safeguarding the dealership’s property, vehicles, facilities, and personnel during overnight hours. This role requires strong attention to detail, situational awareness, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively to security issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor dealership lots, buildings, showrooms, and service areas throughout the night.

• Conduct regular patrols (foot and/or vehicle) to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.

• Monitor and operate security cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems.

• Respond promptly to alarms, suspicious activity, or security incidents.

• Lock and unlock designated gates, doors, and buildings as required.

• Maintain detailed logs of patrol activities, observations, and any incidents.

• Coordinate with local law enforcement or emergency services when necessary.

• Ensure all vehicles on the lot are secure, properly parked, and undamaged.

• Report maintenance issues such as broken lights, gates, or security equipment.

• Provide excellent communication to management regarding overnight events or risks.

Qualifications

• Previous security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.

• Valid security guard license/certification (if required by state).

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

• Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to walk/stand for long periods and perform outdoor patrols in various weather conditions.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with surveillance systems or alarm monitoring.

• Conflict-resolution and de-escalation skills.

• Basic knowledge of emergency response procedures.

Working Conditions

• Primarily outdoors with exposure to weather conditions.

• May involve high-stress situations requiring quick judgment.

• Use of flashlights, radios, and security monitoring tools.
