The Sanitation Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic production environment within our meat processing facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring all equipment, work areas, and production spaces are cleaned and sanitized according to company policies, USDA regulations, and food safety standards.
Clean, sanitize, and disinfect production equipment, machinery, and work areas following established procedures.
Perform daily and deep cleaning of production floors, walls, drains, tools, and other areas as required.
Safely handle sanitation chemicals and follow proper dilution and usage guidelines.
Disassemble and reassemble equipment for cleaning in accordance with safety and sanitation protocols.
Inspect completed cleaning tasks to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
Document cleaning activities on logs, checklists, and sanitation records.
Follow all company safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout protocols.
Work collaboratively with production and quality assurance teams to maintain a sanitary environment.
Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors immediately.
Support additional tasks as assigned to maintain an efficient and compliant sanitation program.
Previous experience in sanitation, janitorial work, or food processing preferred but not required.
Ability to work in cold, wet, and fast-paced environments.
Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and using sanitation equipment (pressure washers, foaming units, etc.).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive motions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety.
Reliable attendance and ability to work assigned schedule.
Exposure to cold temperatures, raw meat products, and wet/humid environments.
Required use of PPE including boots, aprons, gloves, goggles, and hearing protection.
Shift work, weekends, and overtime may be required depending on production needs.
