Position Summary:

The Sanitation Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic production environment within our meat processing facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring all equipment, work areas, and production spaces are cleaned and sanitized according to company policies, USDA regulations, and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean, sanitize, and disinfect production equipment, machinery, and work areas following established procedures.

• Perform daily and deep cleaning of production floors, walls, drains, tools, and other areas as required.

• Safely handle sanitation chemicals and follow proper dilution and usage guidelines.

• Disassemble and reassemble equipment for cleaning in accordance with safety and sanitation protocols.

• Inspect completed cleaning tasks to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.

• Document cleaning activities on logs, checklists, and sanitation records.

• Follow all company safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout protocols.

• Work collaboratively with production and quality assurance teams to maintain a sanitary environment.

• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors immediately.

• Support additional tasks as assigned to maintain an efficient and compliant sanitation program.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in sanitation, janitorial work, or food processing preferred but not required.

• Ability to work in cold, wet, and fast-paced environments.

• Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and using sanitation equipment (pressure washers, foaming units, etc.).

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive motions.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety.

• Reliable attendance and ability to work assigned schedule.

Working Conditions:

• Exposure to cold temperatures, raw meat products, and wet/humid environments.

• Required use of PPE including boots, aprons, gloves, goggles, and hearing protection.
