$25 per hour
Mon–Fri | 8:00am–5:00pm
Contract Length: 2–3 Months

A packaging and design company is seeking a Design Technician to support prototype creation, equipment operation, and daily lab activities. This role works closely with designers, engineers, and project managers to deliver high-quality packaging prototypes on time. Responsibilities:

·         Create prototypes using CAD files, drawings, and specifications

·         Operate CAD cutting tables and other prototyping equipment

·         Coordinate with the project team to plan tasks and provide updates

·         Organize project files, assets, and materials

·         Maintain the Design Lab: equipment upkeep, inventory, storage, and safety

·         Manage shipping and receiving related to prototype and material flow

·         Ensure proper levels of raw materials and supplies

·         Follow Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) guidelines

·         Assist with facility support, basic design tasks, simple reports, or testing as needed

Equipment & Software Used:

  • CAD cutting and prototyping equipment
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Basic design software exposure is a plus (Adobe Suite, Esko ArtiosCAD, SolidWorks)

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2–3 years of work experience
  • Technically and mechanically savvy with general equipment and software knowledge
  • Basic calculation skills (dimensions, weight, material quantities)
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Strong problem-solving, customer service, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Basic understanding of OSHA standards or safety practices is a plus
