Electrical Engineer

Location: McMinnville, OR
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 40 hours per week, overtime as necessary
Salary: $90-$115K/DOE

 

Main Purpose:

The Electrical Engineer position requires strong knowledge of electrical and electronic design principles and engineering practices. This role is responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, and application of engineering techniques. The Electrical Engineer will modify drawings, specifications, calculations, and documentation while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and validate electrical/electronic hardware, software, and harnesses.

  • Develop documentation and bills of materials (BOMs).

  • Troubleshoot and coordinate with vendors and internal teams.

  • Select connectors, wire, and electronic components.

  • Address EMI/EMC shielding requirements.

  • Consider mechanical properties in high vibration and high-temperature environments.

  • Design and support printed circuit boards (PCB) and fabrication processes.

  • Evaluate software protocols and control systems, including impact on latency budgets.

  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing, installation, testing, and maintenance activities.

  • Perform detailed calculations to establish manufacturing and testing specifications.

  • Inspect completed installations to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.

  • Develop research methodologies and apply electrical theory to engineering projects.

  • Prepare, review, and approve technical drawings and system specifications.

  • Investigate failures and customer issues; lead failure reviews and recommend solutions.

  • Ensure deliverables are completed safely, professionally, and on schedule.

  • Adhere to AS9100 quality standards and regulations.

  • Collaborate in a team environment and support customer integration, including aircraft systems.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Experience, & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related scientific discipline.

  • Knowledge of Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) systems and CAN protocols preferred.

  • Experience using Altium design tools.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required).

  • Understanding of embedded coding languages such as C, Arduino, and Python.

  • Experience with LabVIEW and/or Simulink is a plus.

  • Soldering and desoldering skills for surface-mount and through-hole components preferred.

  • Familiarity with IPC and UL manufacturing and design standards preferred.

  • Strong documentation skills and ability to interpret technical materials.
