Express is hiring facility maintenance workers for the City of Hattiesburg!

Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing repairs (leaking faucets, clogged drains, toilet repairs), electrical work (replacing light bulbs, switches, outlets), and HVAC filter changes (with proper training).
Conduct minor carpentry work such as repairing doors, windows, drywall, painting, and assembling furniture.
Maintain building exterior and grounds: snow removal, lawn care, trash removal, pressure washing, and minor landscaping.
Inspect and maintain safety systems including fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, exit signs, and alarms.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests submitted by staff or tenants.
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and systems according to schedule.
Set up and tear down rooms for meetings, events, or office moves.
Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and tools; notify supervisor when reordering is needed.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and building codes.
Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Assist with minor remodeling or renovation projects as needed.
Be available for on-call emergency maintenance outside regular hours (rotating schedule).

High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification a plus.
2+ years of experience in facility maintenance, building maintenance, or a related hands-on trade (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC).
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Good physical condition: able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (if driving company vehicles).
Basic computer skills for logging work orders and inventory.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
