Perform specialized medical clerical tasks associated with patient registration, including verifying eligibility status that follows well-established procedures. Facilitates community referral systems for eligibility and other client needs, such as food access and transportation. Detailed instructions are given at the beginning of an assignment; however, after procedures are learned, the work is performed with more independence. Work is reviewed in progress and upon completion by the Eligibility Team Lead. Volume of work and variety of tasks may vary with individual ability and experience on the job.
Professionally meets and greets the public or clients upon arrival at the office or via telephone. Provides community resource information to the public by phone or mail. Gather and record accurate patient information and ascertain current client eligibility status. Provides ongoing training for eligibility staff. Provides updates to appropriate staff on changes in eligibility guidelines and requirements. Assists with quality management of eligibility records. Check details on a variety of documents, reports, forms, claims, and other documents for accuracy and completeness. Correctly register clients for the appropriate services. Accurately post pertinent information to records. Remove files upon request and match with reports, correspondence, secure needed information, and use information to complete necessary reports. Accurately receive monies and maintain simple accounting records. Performs related work as assigned.
