Job Title: General Laborer – Cemetery Location: Lafayette, CA
Job Summary:Our client is urgently seeking a reliable and hardworking General Laborer/Groundskeeper to assist with the maintenance and operations of their cemetery. This role involves general groundskeeping duties as well as occasional assistance with burial-related tasks, including helping with casket handling and opening/closing gravesites. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and able to work independently, while also supporting the team as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform general cemetery maintenance, including mowing, trimming, raking, weeding, and debris removal.
Operate basic groundskeeping equipment and hand tools safely and effectively.
Assist with burial services as needed, including carrying or lowering caskets and helping with opening and closing gravesites.
Maintain cleanliness and safety of cemetery grounds and facilities.
Support other cemetery staff in setting up for services, including moving equipment, chairs, or tents.
Follow safety procedures and maintain a professional and respectful demeanor at all times.
Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, carrying, and bending.
