Express Employment is looking for an experienced Rice Mill Operator.

Hours: Monday-Thursday, Must be able to work Swing and Day shift 

Pay: $20/Hour 

Location: Oroville, CA

Job Description:

• Lead employees in a production environment.
• Ensure workers are thoroughly trained and fully understand their position.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, local, state, and federal regulations, including wage and hour laws.
• Operate and direct the operation of all equipment in the mill to ensure the production of specified product(s) in a clean and sanitary environment, including startup and shutdown, running adjustments, malfunction correction, and minor routine maintenance.
• Communicate any downtime or change in production immediately to Maintenance Manager/Operations Manager/ Plant Manager, and surrounding departments (dryer, by-products, packaging).
• Conduct an equipment and product flow walk every 2 hours: check for plugs, unusual equipment sounds, overall visual inspection of equipment while in operation, and act promptly on problematic findings.
• Perform various quality checks.
• Verify Assistant Miller and Millhands are completing their daily cleaning tasks and responsibilities.
• The Head Miller must ensure that the Monthly Cleaning Schedule is completed in accordance with the Food Safety policy.
• Be willing to perform the role of Assistant Miller at the company's direction or staffing dictates the need.
• Routinely inspect the condition of machinery, equipment, guards, and facility areas that require repair or appear unsafe – create a work order immediately to preserve the machinery or facility.
• Maintain the area in a clean and sanitary condition.
• Must know how to determine whether rice specifications are correct for an order.
• Follow the Milling Schedule.
• Must do cleaning duties as directed.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of machinery operations.
• Ability to effectively communicate with Plant Management, Mill team, and Maintenance team.
• Must have at least two (2) years of milling experience.
• Must be willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems related to milling rice.
• Must know how to operate a forklift and have a forklift certification.
• Must know all positions of the Mill.
• Must maintain an Adult CPR and First Aid Certificate.
