Schedule: On-site | Monday–Friday | 9:00am–5:00pm

About the Opportunity

A Philadelphia-based nonprofit is seeking a Grants Accountant to manage grant funding and ensure accurate financial tracking, billing, and reporting. 


What They’re Looking For

The most critical requirement is proven experience in nonprofit grants accounting, specifically supporting the full lifecycle of restricted awards, ensuring every dollar is allocated properly, reported accurately, and remains compliant with funder and government regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage grant & contract budgets, spending plans, amendments, and closeouts

  • Monitor expenditures for allowability, allocability, coding accuracy, and burn rate

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly invoicing and financial submissions

  • Track reimbursements and support revenue recognition

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and private funder requirements

  • Prepare financial reports for funders and internal leadership

  • Assist with year-end audit + Single Audit documentation

  • Collaborate with program and development staff to align spending and reporting

  • Maintain grant-related financial data in systems such as QuickBooks, Bill.com, Salesforce, etc.


Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of nonprofit grant or contract accounting experience required

  • Strong understanding of restricted funds & public-sector compliance

  • Experience with federal/state-funded awards (preferred)

  • Proficiency with QuickBooks (or similar) and strong Excel ability

  • Comfortable communicating financials to non-financial colleagues
