Role and Responsibilities

As the shipping and receiving specialist, the incumbent filling the role has the following responsibilities:

1. Perform tasks and duties as assigned by the Shipping Manager
2. Use tools and fixtures to create labels, shipping documents, BOL, commercial invoices, and other required documentation
3. Retrieve parts, machines, or documents from the business departments to fulfill orders
4. Package and prepare for shipment parts, assemblies, machines, documents and materials for shipment
5. Communicate inventory issues to supervisor
6. Schedule and coordinate pick up and drop of deliveries
7. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including proper storage of tools and materials
8. Document and report out on performance for operational tracking and reporting
9. Maintain forklift certifications for appropriate company machines
10. Ad Hoc requests as necessary to support production and operations

 

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

An understanding of the logistics processes and requirements for sending and receiving materials and packages.  Experiential or educational knowledge of the operational needs of a domestic and international shipping and receiving function.  Exceptional skill and capability to manage the daily requirements and balance the short-term and long-term needs of production and operations.  Experience with the websites for letter, package, pallet, LTL, and TL shipping needs and documentation. 

 

 

Preferred Skills

• 2+ years of shipping and receiving experience
• Bilingual is a plus
• Experience working in a production environment
• Forklift operator certification
• Effective time management of daily tasks

 

performance

Ability to read and write in English, Ability to stand for up to 8 consecutive hours with regular breaks, ability to lift unassisted up to 50 lbs., ability to use MHE in a safe manor, ability to understand and use PPE appropriately.  This position requires steel toe shoes.

 $18 an hour
