Salary: $22.00 to $23.00

Our client, located in Kanata, is seeking a detail-oriented Hand Solderer to join their electronics manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will assemble, solder, and inspect electronic components on printed circuit boards (PCBs) and related assemblies, ensuring all work meets industry standards and client quality requirements. The ideal candidate will also have the potential to grow into a Lead Hand role, where they would be mentored to eventually oversee a small team of employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate hand soldering of through-hole and surface-mount components on PCBs
  • Interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and work orders
  • Inspect solder joints and completed assemblies to ensure compliance with IPC-A-610 standards and internal quality requirements
  • Utilize soldering irons, tweezers, magnifiers, microscopes, and other tools for fine-pitch work
  • Identify defects and perform necessary rework or corrections
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD-safe workstation
  • Collaborate with production supervisors and quality teams to meet production goals and timelines
  • Follow safety guidelines and support continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in electronics assembly is an asset
  • 3–4 years of hand soldering experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
  • IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification preferred
  • Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and comfort working with small components under magnification
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Strong commitment to quality and precision
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced production environment
  • Self-motivated with solid problem-solving skills

Compensation

  • Hourly Wage: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour depending on experience 

Available Schedules

  • Day Shift: Monday to Friday
