Job Description

Express Employment Professionals is hiring experienced Chemical Operators for a high-volume chemical production facility. This is a full-time opportunity in a gritty, industrial environment that requires hands-on chemical handling, physical strength, and strict attention to safety and detail.

We are seeking reliable, safety-driven candidates who have prior experience working in a chemical plant or industrial production setting. This role involves mixing and pouring chemicals, monitoring production processes, and working both indoors and outdoors while wearing required PPE.

Responsibilities

As a Chemical Operator, your daily duties will include:

Mixing, measuring, and pouring chemicals according to batch sheets and process instructions.
Adding raw materials to tanks/vessels using correct sequencing and safe handling methods.
Operating and monitoring production equipment (mixers, pumps, valves, transfer lines, reaction vessels).
Performing quality checks during production (visual inspections, sample pulls, basic testing).
Packaging finished product into drums/totes/containers and labeling accurately.
Reading and following SDS (Safety Data Sheets) and chemical labeling systems (NFPA/HMIS).
Completing accurate batch logs, production records, and inventory documentation.
Performing basic troubleshooting when processes are off-spec (temperature, pressure, agitation, flow).
Maintaining equipment cleanliness and performing routine housekeeping in production areas.
Supporting shipping/receiving or material handling as needed.
Working in a physically demanding environment with exposure to industrial conditions indoors and outdoors.

Requirements

Chemical handling / chemical production experience required (prior plant experience strongly preferred).
Comfortable working in a gritty industrial environment, indoors and outdoors.
Ability to lift 50 lbs or more repeatedly and perform physical work all shift.
Must be able to follow strict safety protocols and wear PPE (gloves, goggles, respirator if required, protective suits).
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow batch instructions precisely.
Reliable, consistent work history with proven tenure.
Must pass pre-employment screening (drug screen/background check if required by client).

Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of chemical batching, mixing, and safe material handling.
Familiarity with plant equipment and process controls (pumps, valves, mixers, tanks, HMI panels a plus).
Understanding of SDS, hazard communication, and chemical safety.
Ability to monitor processes and recognize off-spec conditions.
Strong documentation skills and basic computer literacy for logging production data.
Mechanical aptitude to assist with minor equipment adjustments/maintenance.
Team-oriented, safety-first mindset in a high-risk production environment.

Shifts & Hours

Full-time schedules available
Multiple shifts may be offered depending on production needs
Overtime may be required based on workload
Must be open to working indoors/outdoors and in varying weather conditions
