Express Employment Professionals is hiring a highly skilled Press Brake Operator / Machinist for a leading metal fabrication facility. This is a full-time, machinist-level role requiring advanced knowledge of press brake setup, tooling, tolerance control, and preventative maintenance.

We are seeking a tenured, detail-driven machinist who can independently set up, program (if CNC), run, and troubleshoot press brakes while maintaining consistent quality and tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

As a Press Brake Operator / Machinist, your daily duties will include:

Independently setting up and operating press brake machines (CNC and/or manual).
Installing, aligning, and changing dies, punches, and tooling for different jobs.
Reading and interpreting blueprints, fabrication drawings, and bend charts.
Calculating bend allowances, material thickness, and sequence requirements.
Adjusting tolerances and machine parameters (stroke depth, tonnage, back gauge, ram settings, angle corrections) to meet spec.
Performing first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures.
Conducting routine preventative maintenance, lubrication, and safety checks to minimize downtime.
Troubleshooting tooling wear, misalignment, material spring-back, or machine faults.
Recording production counts, scrap, inspection results, and setup changes accurately.
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workstation in compliance with shop standards.

Requirements

Machinist-level Press Brake experience required (not entry-level).
Proven ability to set up, tool, and run press brakes independently.
Strong understanding of tolerances, metal forming, bend sequencing, and material behavior.
Skilled in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
Proficient with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
Experience performing preventative maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
Reliable, consistent work history with strong tenure.
Safety-focused and quality-driven.

Skills & Qualifications

CNC/Manual press brake setup and operation.
Tooling knowledge and die changes.
Tolerance adjustments and part correction.
Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and forming processes.
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving.
Strong math skills for measurements and bend calculations.
Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines.

Shifts & Hours

Full-time schedule
1st and/or 2nd shift opportunities available depending on facility needs
Overtime may be available as production requires
