Job Title: Spacecraft Electronics Test Engineer

Industry: Aerospace Manufacturing
Employment Type: Full-Time, Hybrid (mostly on-site)

About the Company:

Our client is a leading aerospace manufacturing company specializing in the design and production of advanced spacecraft systems and components. With a strong commitment to innovation, safety, and precision, the team is focused on pushing the boundaries of space technology and delivering mission-critical solutions to government and commercial clients.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an Electronics Test Engineer to support the design, testing, and validation of spacecraft avionics and electronics. You will take a hands-on role in developing and executing test campaigns, debugging complex electronic systems, and improving hardware reliability across flight and test platforms. This role is ideal for a driven, self-sufficient engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across hardware, software, and system interfaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, and execute test campaigns for avionics hardware, including computing modules, analog and digital circuits, microcontroller-based systems, and power electronics.
  • Develop and script automated tests to streamline validation workflows and ensure consistent test coverage.
  • Collaborate with electrical, systems, and manufacturing engineers to define test requirements and ensure alignment with performance goals.
  • Lead bench testing, validation, and debugging of circuit boards and subsystems throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware issues during bring-up and integration using systematic analysis and sound engineering fundamentals.
  • Perform detailed root-cause investigations for component and subsystem failures and propose effective design or process improvements.
  • Create, review, and maintain electrical schematics and test documentation in Altium Designer.
  • Manage and maintain PCB assemblies and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure configuration control and traceability.
  • Maintain test equipment and perform routine calibrations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in hardware testing, electronics development, or system integration.
  • Strong understanding of analog, digital, microcontroller-based, and power electronic circuit design.
  • Hands-on experience developing, executing, and automating hardware test procedures for electronic systems.
  • Proficiency with test and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and electronic loads.
  • Experience using Altium Designer for schematic and PCB design review (or similar)
  • Knowledge of Python for scripting or test automation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with experience in root-cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a dynamic engineering environment

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience in aerospace or space hardware development and testing.
  • Familiarity with automated test frameworks or hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Knowledge of environmental testing (thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC) is a plus.
