Position Overview:

Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a local company to fill an Assembly Technician position in a fast-paced, production-focused environment. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are mechanically inclined, reliable, and enjoy hands-on work.

In this role, the Assembly Technician will be responsible for assembling large sheet metal racks with precision and consistency. The position requires physical stamina and the ability to accurately read a tape measure to within 1/16”—candidates will be tested on this skill upon arrival, and those who do not meet this standard will not move forward in the process.

We are looking for candidates with a background in carpentry, fabrication, or similar trades who take pride in producing high-quality work and can maintain efficiency throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble large sheet metal racks according to specifications
• Use tape measures accurately (1/16" precision is required)
• Operate hand and power tools safely to drill, bolt, or secure components
• Follow production guidelines to meet daily output targets
• Inspect parts and completed assemblies for defects or deviations
• Read and interpret basic assembly instructions or blueprints
• Maintain an organized and safe work environment
• Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure quality and workflow

Required Qualifications: 

• Must demonstrate the ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16” (tested upon arrival)
• Previous experience in carpentry, fabrication, construction, or industrial assembly
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow procedures precisely
• Physically able to lift, bend, stand, and move large parts throughout the day
• Dependable, with strong attention to detail and a focus on productivity
• Comfortable working around large sheet metal parts and using safety gear

Preferred Experience:

• Sheet metal or metal fabrication experience
• Use of torque wrenches, drills, impact drivers, and other hand tools
• Familiarity with mechanical drawings or work orders
• Knowledge of shop safety practices and PPE compliance

Dress Code Requirements:

• Leather work boots required
