Production & Packaging Associate – 1st & 3rd Shift (Full Time)

Express Employment Professionals is now hiring full-time Production & Packaging Associates for Gellert Global Group (formerly Barron County Cheese) in Almena and Barron, WI. No experience needed — we will train!

What You’ll Do

Package cheese products on automated and manual production lines
Inspect, label, seal, box, and prepare finished products
Assemble displays and “flight” boxes for retail customers
Rotate through stations to learn different tasks
Maintain a clean, safe work area
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and plant safety rules

(Almena has the most immediate need; Barron available for strong candidates.)

What We’re Looking For

Reliable, consistent attendance
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Ability to follow instructions in English or Spanish
Team-oriented and able to work at a steady pace
Ready to work in cooler temps (35–50°F)

No experience required! Manufacturing, assembly, or food production background is a plus.

Pay & Shifts

1st Shift (7am–3pm) – Highest need in Almena
3rd Shift (11pm–7am) – High need
Occasional overtime available (up to 2 hours/day, usually voluntary)
Cheese spread associate positions may pay higher ($17.50–$18/hr)

Physical Requirements

Stand/walk full 8-hour shift on concrete
Lift 50 lbs regularly, 75 lbs occasionally
Pinch, grip, grasp, bend, reach, and twist
Must wear PPE: hairnet, beard net, smock, gloves
No artificial nails, nail polish, jewelry (except plain wedding band)

Work Environment

Clean, well-run food production facility
Some tasks near heat tunnels, others in cooler warehouse zones
