Express Employment Professionals is seeking an Authorization Specialist to join a local company in Tyler, TX! We are a full-service Staffing Firm where we work with companies in East Texas who have openings they are looking to fill with great talent we find for them!
Verify all patient insurance coverage prior to scheduled office visits.
Contact patients to obtain updated insurance information as needed.
Submit and manage authorization requests for routine and specialty medical services.
Collaborate with primary care practices to ensure proper referral and authorization documentation.
Accurately enter referral and authorization numbers into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Regularly monitor and manage the referral/authorization work queue within the EHR to ensure timely processing.
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in healthcare insurance verification and/or medical authorizations.
Strong understanding of healthcare compliance and payer requirements.
Proficiency in EHR systems and medical billing software.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
