CNC Machinist
Located in Grand Rapids, MI
Salary: $26-28/HR
CNC Machinist Job Summary: A family-owned company located in the Walker/Grand Rapids area who has been in business for over 100 years is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team and support the production of high-quality components. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently with minimal supervision, interpret component prints, and operate CNC mills and lathes using primarily Mazak equipment with Mazatrol manual programming.
CNC Machinist Requirements:
- Read, interpret, and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes, working primarily with bar stock and tubing materials.
- Perform machining operations in Mazak machines using Mazatrol manual programming (manual programming subset).
- Use calibrated precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, depth micrometers, etc.) to verify part accuracy and quality.
- Make necessary adjustments to machine settings, tooling, and offsets to maintain tolerances
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet exact specifications and quality standards
- Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize processes for efficiency and accuracy
Schedule & Pay:
- 1st shift, 6am-2:30pm Monday - Friday
- $26-28/hr
CNC Machinist Qualifications:
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience (preferred)
- Strong proficiency with CNC mills and lathes, specifically Mazak machines
- Experience with Mazatrol manual programming (preferred)
- Skilled in the use of precision measurement instruments
- Solid understanding of machining best practices, materials, speeds, and feeds.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical or vocational training in machining or a related field is preferred
