The Project Manager assists Division Managers in directing and coordinating construction activities to maximize efficiency, economy, and profitability. This role may require travel to act as an onsite Project Manager, taking full responsibility for specific projects.
Manage customer expectations, approvals, and project documentation including meeting minutes and submittals.
Oversee multiple manufacturing and construction projects simultaneously.
Mentor and train Project Engineers on company procedures, standards, and construction planning.
Assist in pricing, contractor qualification, and preparation of fixed-price proposals.
Coordinate project teams, including supervisory, clerical, drafting, and manufacturing personnel.
Order tools and materials to meet work schedules.
Direct supervisory staff and subcontractors on work procedures, contract interpretation, and construction coordination to prevent delays.
Resolve construction problems and improve methods by collaborating with inspectors, engineers, and suppliers.
Inspect work in progress for quality and schedule adherence.
Prepare and review reports on progress, costs, and materials; adjust schedules accordingly.
Review and approve project invoices; coordinate payment applications with customers and inspectors.
Maintain and manage project documentation for contract compliance, changes, disputes, and authorizations.
Enforce company safety programs on project sites and ensure effective loss control.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervise Project Managers, Project Engineers, construction leads, and laborers as needed.
Responsible for hiring, training, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution in line with organizational policies and laws.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) preferred in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or related fields.
Minimum 4-5 years related experience and/or training.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and project scheduling software such as MS Project.
Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record required.
Willingness to travel to project sites as necessary.
Ability to qualify as “Qualifying Party” for state contractor licenses and obtain first aid/CPR certifications if required.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety policies preferred.
Experience coordinating multiple trades and erecting steel buildings is a plus.
Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret drawings, contracts, schedules, and technical documents.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with ability to manage customer relations and project teams.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with capacity to work independently under pressure.
Solid math skills for interpreting blueprints, calculating measurements, and analyzing costs.
Frequent standing, walking, sitting, talking, and hearing.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and over 50 lbs with assistance.
Regular pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and handling small tools.
Required vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision, as well as focus adjustment.
Exposure to outside weather conditions including dust, mechanical parts, fumes, and moderate noise levels.
Work involves both office and outdoor construction site environments.
