Express is looking for a reliable Carpenter for a 6-week special project for one of our great Valdosta clients.  This job starts December 1.

JOB DESCRIPTION:  
The Carpenter is responsible for constructing, repairing, and installing wooden furniture and fixtures. The role involves reading blueprints, selecting the right materials, using a variety of carpentry tools, and ensuring high-quality craftsmanship in all finished products.

Schedule

• Monday-Saturday 6 to 10 hour shifts

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a furniture carpenter or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and materials.
• Ability to use a variety of carpentry tools and machinery safely.
• Good understanding of furniture layout and design principles.
• Strong math and measurement skills.
• Attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Physical stamina and the ability to handle heavy materials.
• Time management and ability to meet deadlines.

 Requirements:

• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and finish wood and other materials to build furniture (tables, chairs, cabinets, shelves, etc.).
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and design specifications.
• Select appropriate materials based on the project requirements.
• Operate carpentry machinery and hand tools such as saws, drills, sanders, routers, and planers.
• Build custom furniture based on client needs or interior plans.
• Inspect and repair damaged furniture or wooden structures.
• Apply finishes, varnish, paint, or polish to completed pieces.
• Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with designers, supervisors, and clients to meet project expectations.
• Maintain a clean and organized workshop.
