Production Machine Operator

Salary: $22.00 to $24.00

Our client, an insulation fabricator and distributor located in the South end of Ottawa, is currently looking for a Production Machine Operator to join their team on the evening shift.

Required skills and qualifications:

• 1 year experience in production, ideally operating machinery, tools, and/or equipment
• Previous experience operating a CNC Machine considered a strong asset. Candidate must be mechanically inclined as well as able to learn new software (basic computer skills to operate the CNC Machine)
• Previous forklift experience considered an asset
• Ability to work independently / in a team
• Ability to follow instructions carefully
• Must have own vehicle as public transit is not reliable in the area
• Must be available to work day shift during training (8:00am to 4:00pm), then switch to the evening shift (2:00pm to 10:30pm)

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Upload CNC program for machine to run
• Load materials onto CNC Profile Cutting Wire Saw machine and run the programs
• Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and quality
• Pick product orders for customers and place them into boxes or onto skids
• Operate a counterbalance forklift to load/unload trucks and move product within the warehouse
• Receive stock and store into appropriate areas
• Cycle count inventory, storing in orderly and accessible manner, while inspecting stock items for wear or defects and reporting to management
• Ensure materials are secured to minimize damage and breakage
• Keep work areas clean and free from safety hazards at all times
• Assist other team members with various warehouse, shipping, and receiving tasks
• Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50lbs during loading/unloading of trucks
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours to perform job related tasks
• Other duties as assigned

The starting wage for this position is $22.00 to $24.00 per hour (includes $1.00/hr evening shift premium).

Hours:
During Training: Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 4:30pm
After Training: Monday to Friday – 2:00pm to 10:30pm
