Job Title: Medical Payment Poster

Location: McAllen, TX
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (30-minute lunch)
Pay Rate: $14-$15/hour DOE

 

 

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Payment Poster to accurately post and reconcile payments in a medical billing environment. The ideal candidate has experience with insurance EOBs, electronic remittances, and patient account reconciliation, along with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Post insurance and patient payments to the correct accounts in the billing system
• Review and interpret EOBs, EFTs, and ERAs to ensure accurate allocation
• Reconcile daily deposits and batch totals
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies or posting errors
• Apply adjustments, write-offs, and denials when applicable based on payer guidelines
• Track unpaid and partially paid claims when necessary
• Maintain accurate documentation and records for auditing and reporting
• Communicate with billing staff or management regarding issues affecting payments
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience in medical payment posting or medical billing
• Understanding of insurance EOBs and basic medical billing terminology
• Strong data entry and numerical accuracy
• Proficient with computers and billing software
• Ability to work independently and meet daily/weekly productivity goals
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• High school diploma or equivalent required
