Assistant Manager – Local Hardware Store

 

We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Assistant Manager to join our team at a local hardware store. The ideal candidate will be well versed in various aspects of construction, including plumbing, electrical, and pressure-treated wood. This role supports daily store operations, provides expert customer assistance, and helps lead the team to ensure an efficient, customer-focused environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in daily store operations, including opening/closing procedures and inventory management

• Provide expert product knowledge and guidance to customers across plumbing, electrical, lumber, hardware, and related construction materials

• Support and lead store associates to maintain a clean, organized, and customer-friendly environment

• Handle customer inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high levels of satisfaction

• Assist with ordering, stocking, merchandising, and maintaining accurate inventory

• Uphold safety and compliance standards within the store

• Step in for the Store Manager as needed

Qualifications:

• Previous hardware store or construction-related retail experience required

• Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, lumber/pressure-treated wood, and general construction materials

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Ability to lead, motivate, and support staff

• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

• Reliable, professional, and able to work a flexible schedule as needed

Compensation:
Pay is based on experience.
