Heavy Equipment Operator – Excavation

Location: Indian Trail, NC
Schedule: Monday-Friday 1st Shift

Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join their excavation team. This individual will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating heavy machinery—specifically a 350 Excavator—to support site preparation, trenching, grading, and other excavation activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a 350 Excavator with precision for digging, trenching, grading, and material handling.

• Perform daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs.

• Read and follow site plans, grades, and instructions from supervisors.

• Load and unload materials safely.

• Work closely with ground crews to maintain a safe and efficient jobsite.

• Adhere strictly to all safety procedures, company policies, and OSHA regulations.

• Assist with general labor tasks when needed.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of heavy equipment experience within excavation, construction, or site development required.

• Proficient in operating a 350 excavator (or similar-sized equipment).

• Understanding of trenching, grading, and soil conditions.

• Ability to read site layouts, cut sheets, and grade stakes.

• Strong awareness of safety protocols and ability to work in fast-paced outdoor environments.

• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.

• Reliable, punctual, and capable of working with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for long periods while operating equipment.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
