Sales / Estimator

Pay: Up to $25/hour DOE
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Location: Shreveport, LA

Key responsibilities

• Cost estimation and budgeting: Analyze project plans, develop plans, specifications, and blueprints to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates.
• Quantity takeoffs: Determine and quantify all necessary materials and resources for a project.
• Bid and proposal preparation: Create comprehensive bid proposals and client-facing documents that include detailed cost breakdowns.
• Client  Interact with clients, company owner, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather information, answer questions, and build relationships.
• Site visits: Visit construction sites to assess project scope, conditions, and potential challenges.
• Vendor and subcontractor management: Request and review bids from subcontractors and negotiate pricing with suppliers.
• Data management: Maintain and update a database of historical cost data and pricing trends.
• Bid tracking: Track bid deadlines, manage submissions, and follow up with clients on proposals.

• Technical skills
• Strong understanding of construction management principles and practices.
• Soft skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Education and experience 
•      5 years experience in construction management or as a superintendent 
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is often preferred.
• Proven experience in construction estimating or a related sales role is essential.
• Familiarity with cost control methods and project management is important.
