Supply Chain Coordinator – Baton Rouge, LA

FULL-TIME

$20-23/hr- based on experience

Day Shift 8am-5pm

 

Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing agency, is hiring a Supply Chain Coordinator for a local client in East Baton Rouge that produces water filtration products and systems. They are seeking someone who has a primary background in Logistics, and some purchasing experience as well, with great communications skills and above-average attention to detail. 

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (Shipping & Receiving):

• Generate freight quotes for Sales Team
• Set up outbound shipments as needed
• Track inbound and outbound shipments 
• Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments
• Process inbound shipments assuring all items are accounted for and undamaged.
• Maintain and manage relationships with Vendors & Suppliers.
• Assist with Customer Support, as needed.
• Maintain clean & organized work areas.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITES (Inventory Control & Order Fulfillment):

• Assist in maintaining the physical inventory as needed to satisfy production-based deliverables and inventory management.
• Assist in production-related activities, such as packaging and shipping preparation, as needed.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Minimum 3 years, 5-7 years preferred, of demonstratable experience in Purchasing, & Shipping/Receiving (logistics).
• Critical thinker with good organizational skills and above-average attention to detail.
• Proficient computer skills: emailing, tracking, documenting
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, e.g., Word & Excel, as well as other typical office software, e.g., Adobe.
• Great customer service etiquette.
• Goal-oriented with a strong work ethic
• Able-bodied with good dexterity and capable of lifting 50 pounds.
• Able to operate a forklift proficiently and safely.
• Able and willing to work in flexible environments; at a desk and standing for extended periods.
• Able to work in a covered shop environment with exposure to seasonal weather changes, dust, loud noises, and in proximity to welding arc flashes.
• Flexible and adaptable; able to effectively work in a dynamic order-based manufacturing environment.

Benefits Once Hired on: 

• $20-23/hr., based on experience after completion of the evaluation period. 
• 120 hours of PTO accrued after one year of full-time employment.
