Medical Payment Poster 

Position Summary
The Medical Payment Poster is responsible for accurately posting and reconciling payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts. This role ensures timely and precise financial record-keeping to support the revenue cycle and maintain accurate patient billing information.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Post insurance and patient payments, adjustments, and write-offs into the practice management or EMR system.

• Reconcile daily deposits, EOBs/ERAs, and payment batches to ensure accuracy.

• Research and resolve payment discrepancies, underpayments, and overpayments.

• Identify and correctly apply denial codes and insurance remittances.

• Communicate with billing staff, insurance companies, and internal teams to clarify payment issues.

• Maintain accurate documentation and follow all HIPAA and compliance guidelines.

• Assist with month-end reporting, payment audits, and balancing as needed.

• Ensure timely posting to avoid delays in accounts receivable and workflow.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in medical billing, payment posting, or revenue cycle operations preferred.

• Strong understanding of EOBs, ERAs, insurance reimbursement, and denial codes.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Proficiency with medical billing software 

• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
