Our client in Hiawatha, IA is looking for a Fan Drive Assembler!

Position Summary: As a Fan Drive Assembler, you will play a key role in assembling John Deere Fan Drives, working hands-on with components and subassemblies following detailed blueprints and technical instructions. The assembly process is divided across four cells, with each team member responsible for completing a portion of the fan drive. Finished units weigh between 50-75 lbs and are moved using a hoist, while you’ll typically lift 15-20 lbs throughout the day. This physically demanding role requires standing all day in the same cell and demands strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality and safety. Attendance is critical, and steel-toed boots with metatarsal guards are required—either already owned or purchased before starting. You’ll collaborate closely with your team to meet production goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assembling John Deere Fan Drive components and/or subassemblies according to blueprints and technical instructions
• Operating intermediate machines and equipment, including setup, loading, unloading, and making adjustments
• Utilizing hand tools and production equipment safely and effectively
• Performing quality control checks and verifying conformance to specifications
• Maintaining equipment and tools in good working order, including cleaning and reporting malfunctions
• Adhering to safety regulations and quality standards
• Transporting materials as required using proper handling methods
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area
• Collaborating with team members to ensure production timelines are met

Qualifications:

• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and technical documents
• Dexterity and fine motor skills to manipulate and assemble small parts
• Mechanical skills to operate production equipment and perform basic maintenance
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
• Basic math skills (decimals, addition, subtraction, fractions)
• Strong work ethic and reliability, including good attendance
• Commitment to following safety protocols and procedures
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Previous experience in manufacturing or assembly is often preferred

Hours:

• 7am – 3pm
• Monday – Friday

Pay:

• $16.50/hour
