Perform Welding operations on standard and repetitive fabricated weldments, utilizing stainless, carbon steel, and aluminum sheet materials. Required to follow prescribed procedures and welding process sheets as documented. Must demonstrate the ability to accurately interpret drawings in order to attain required tolerances and part quality expectations. Must work independently, detect errors in the operation and comply with volume and product flow requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Complete tig and or mig welding assembly of standard and repetitive fabricated parts from various fabrication cells. Adjust, fit, and align as necessary to achieve close tolerances. Utilize required jig fixtures as documented to achieve consistent fit-up. 
• Requires the ability to setup and perform welds of moderate complexity working from specifications, drawings, prints, and routings. Must follow Welding Process Sheets for established machine settings per material type and gauge. 
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively utilize and operate shop arc welding equipment. Select proper heat and filler electrodes as required. Adjust and regulate voltage as necessary to perform welding operation under established criteria. 
• Maintain welding equipment as required by identifying and requesting servicing for equipment malfunctions, conducting required preventative maintenance activities, or conducting and documenting 5S activities per operation as required. Requires the ability to help train other operators and to maintain the flow or processes of work with in a group. Provide assistance with other operations within fabrication cell as required.
  Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms. 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires a minimum of two to three years of previous welding experience in a related field. 
• Must have the mobility and strength for lifting average to heavy weight components as necessary; up to 45 lbs. Physical strength evaluation testing may be required. 
• Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials. 
• Required to wear welding helmet, gloves, safety shirt and/or another approved eye shielding.
