Salary: $125,000-$140,000

We’re seeking a Plant Operations Manager to oversee daily operations a manufacturing company in Ayer. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient production while maintaining the highest standards of quality, environmental compliance, and equipment performance.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the facility’s automated production systems and equipment
• Direct and coordinate production activities to achieve output, quality, and safety goals
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime
• Work with environmental and safety consultants to maintain full regulatory compliance (OSHA, DEP, etc.)
• Lead, coach, and schedule facility staff to maximize productivity and maintain a safe, organized work environment
• Analyze production and performance data to identify process improvements using LEAN concepts
• Ensure readiness of the facility to accept materials and deliver quality products on time
• Manage special projects that enhance efficiency, sustainability, and profitability

 

Requirements

• 5+ years of management experience in an automated or computerized manufacturing environment
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
• Project management experience strongly preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude preferred
• Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and related systems).
• Physically able to work both indoors and outdoors, occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs and using required PPE
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
