The Quotation Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the sales and production teams by developing accurate and timely cost estimates and quotations for manufactured products. This position requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and labor costs, as well as the ability to interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications. The Quotation Specialist ensures that all quotes meet company pricing standards, margin objectives, and customer expectations.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

• Review customer requests for quotation (RFQs), drawings, and specifications to determine scope of work and required materials or processes.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and purchasing teams to verify feasibility, lead times, and cost accuracy.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes to support overall cost calculations.
• Prepare and deliver formal quotations or proposals to the sales team or directly to customers within defined deadlines.
• Maintain and update costing databases, pricing structures, and quotation templates.
• Analyze historical pricing and production data to improve estimating accuracy.
• Support the sales team in technical discussions and clarification of quotation details with customers.
• Assist with revisions as needed.

Qualifications:

Experience:

• Experience in cost estimating, quoting, or sales support.
• Familiarity with fabrication, machining, assembly, or custom manufacturing processes is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
• Experience interpreting technical drawings, and CAD files.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong customer service skills with both the phone and email.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple RFQs and deadlines simultaneously.
• Proactive, organized, and committed to continuous improvement.
